UK-based charity Sikh Relief and its trustee chairman Balbir Singh Bains are under investigation in India for funding operatives of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), which is sanctioned as a terrorist organization by the US and UK. Sikh Relief provides welfare payments and legal services to imprisoned BKI members. Sikh Relief solicits donations via bank accounts maintained at Western financial institutions, including Barclays, Bank of America, HSBC, and CAF Bank Ltd, as well as online fundraising platform Just Giving.
