All in the Family: Singapore Shipping Network for North Korea Money Laundering

Tan Wee Beng, who was sanctioned by the US on October 25, 2018 as a money launderer for North Korea, owns a network of shipping and trade companies in Singapore along with his close relatives. Tan Wee Beng is wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation following his October 2018 indictment on charges of sanctions evasion and money laundering.

Commodities trading company Wee Tiong Holdings Pte. Ltd. is owned by Tan Wee Beng, his father Tan Siong Kern, and brother Tan Wee Tiong. Wee Tiong Holdings’ local distribution and fleet operations firms in Singapore  Wee Tiong (S) Pte and WT Marine Pte Ltd were sanctioned in October 2018 along with Tan Wee Beng.
